Meet the tallest player in NBA history: Manute Bol

Manute Bol, born in 1962 was a Sudanese-born professional basketball player and political activist.

Listed at 7 ft 6 inches or 7 ft 7 inches tall, Bol was the tallest player in the history of the National Basketball Association

He came from the Dinka Tribe of South Sudan, a tribe of extraordinarily tall men. Manute would tell the story about how he once killed a lion with a spear while watching over his family’s herd of cattle back in Africa.

A 24-year-old Sierra Leonean has Invented Sierra Leone’s first solar-powered car made out of trash

Emmanuel Alieu Mansaray is a 24-year-old self-taught Sierra Leonean inventor, engineer, renewable energy expert, and a student of the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Geology. He attained his high school certificate from the Methodist Boys High School, Freetown. It all started in 2018 when he built the first locally made solar-powered tricycle in Sierra. Fast forward 2020, Emmanuel Alieu Mansaray invented the first ‘solar-powered’ car in his country, Sierra Leone. His passion for the environment and to solve social issues affecting his community led him to invent the solar-powered car. He called the car ‘The imagination Solar Car’.

Young Kenyan innovators create robotic arms to support persons with disabilities

Two young Kenyan innovators have started an initiative which will contribute immensely towards the campaign to make life easier for persons living with disabilities.

The innovators, David Gathu and Moses Kinua who live about 30killiometers from Nairobi have built functioning robotic arms; many people are amazed by the technical knowledge of these two young boys who reportedly did not acquire any form of tertiary education.
